Getting Here
Smithers, BC is the jumping off point for our hunts - there are daily flights from Vancouver to Smithers. You will arrive in Smithers the day before your hunt starts. Our expeditor will greet you upon arrival and take you to your accommodations in Smithers. We have 5 base camps that are accessed by road and/or air charter.
Recommended Gear & Readiness
From base layers and waterproof outerwear, to hunting gear and a good, worn in pair of hiking boots, check out our recommended gear list to ensure you are ready for hunting in BC’s northern wilderness. Your physical conditioning plays an important part in your hunt. By being in the best possible physical shape, your chance of success is increased.
Trophy Meat Information
Our guides will clean skulls, antlers/horns; as well as skin, flesh, and salt your capes at camp. We will store your trophies in a secure dry, location, then custom crate and ship to your taxidermist at the end of the season. If you are driving here to take meat home, our guides will help you de-bone & rough prep your meat at camp and you can take it back in coolers. Otherwise, you can ask a local butcher to process and flash freeze your meat.
Accommodations
We offer first-class base camps, spike camps, and equipment. All camps consist of a central cookhouse, cozy cabins with comfortable beds & wood stoves, hot showers and centrally located outhouses. Base camps have quiet, clean propane lighting and back-up generator or solar powered electricity. We have well-maintained watercraft, aircraft and well trained, sure-footed mountain horses. There is truly no place more peaceful & primitive to share a cold one around the fire, reflecting on the days hunt!
Licenses & Tags
Our Administrator will arrange for any licenses and tags required for your hunt. Hunting tags must be pre-purchased, assigned, and activated prior to your hunt. They will be given to you upon your arrival at your hunting camp. To bring a rifle into Canada, non-residents must fill out a Canada Customs Firearm Declaration form and pay a small fee at your point of entry. The form will be sent to you from our office or you can download it here.
